Caring for 35 Years

Workforce Development

The growing prevalence of in-home childcare has shown NVCS that there are even more ways to help the community of North Hills, for this reason NVCS established The Family, Friends & Neighbors (FFN) Training & Mentoring Project for License-Exempt Child Care Providers. Targeting individuals caring for children other than their own, this Workforce Development program seeks to enhance the childcare knowledge of providers in the community as well as increase the social connections and opportunities available to them. The lessons taught utilize available community resources and aid in the many possibilities open to caregivers in the workforce. Included in the curriculum is the training in-home caregivers will need to become licensed as professional caregivers of young children. In combination with all of NVCS' services, this program practices a policy of interconnection that allows community members to come together to help one another. The outcome of this program is to better early childhood care for tomorrow's students and leaders, and improve job opportunities for today's childcare providers.
