OUR PROGRAMS

NVCS Safe Parking

NVCS’ Safe Parking program started in 2018 as the first of its kind in the SFV and offers an array of onsite services that address the homeless community’s ongoing needs. Our program helps participants become self-sustaining, develop a path to housing, and focus on making their homelessness as short as possible.

WRAP-AROUND SERVICES

Since its launch, our Safe Parking program has served hundreds of people living in their vehicles and provided them with a safe place to sleep at night with onsite security, restrooms, showers, employment resources, and case management. Our participants have access to our child education and adult skills programs, job training, and dozens of outside agency referrals ranging from pet boarding to legal aid, housing and obtaining government benefits. NVCS welcomes all: the disabled, veterans, senior citizens, students, LGBTQ+, families, those who are working and those who are unemployed.

In 2020, our Safe Parking program was able to assist our most vulnerable into Project Roomkey, keeping them safe from COVID-19. NVCS continues to adapt to community needs and is set to expand its safe parking program to four additional City Council Districts in 2021.
