Thanksgiving meal
In November, Breakfast Program volunteers host a Thanksgiving lunch for over 250 NVCS clients and local homeless individuals. Participants are served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and dessert. For the majority in attendance, this is the only holiday meal they have the opportunity to enjoy. |
Toy Give-Away
Thanks to toy donations from Toys for Tots, the California Highway Patrol, and North Valley Occupational Center, in December NVCS provides toys to hundreds of local children. For most, these are the only toys they will receive for the holidays. |
Holiday Boutique for Parents
Every December NVCS also holds its annual Christmas Boutique. A very special event, approximately 350 children are escorted by volunteers who help them choose and wrap a holiday gift for their parents. This event is made possible by the Northridge United Methodist Church, who generously donates the gifts.
